Privacy
MoonMark is a Markdown reader. Your documents stay on your Mac.
Updated October 24, 2026
Your documents
MoonMark reads and renders documents on your Mac and never uploads their content. Rendering works offline, including Mermaid diagrams and KaTeX math.
If a document links to an image on the web, MoonMark loads that image from its server, as a browser would.
What the app sends
MoonMark connects to only two Vast Logic services. It has no analytics or tracking.
- License
vastcore.vastlogic.dev - Used when you start the trial, activate or deactivate, and from time to time to renew your license. MoonMark sends a device hash, your license key and the app version. The device hash is a one-way hash of your Mac’s hardware ID; the ID itself is never sent. Activating also sends your Mac’s name, so you can tell your Macs apart. Starting the trial also sends when it started.
- Updates
dl.vastlogic.dev - Once a day, MoonMark checks for a new version. It sends only the app version. To stop this, turn off Check for Updates Automatically in Settings › About.
As with any connection, these servers see your IP address.
Payment
Dodo Payments sells MoonMark as the merchant of record. Dodo processes your payment and emails your license key. Dodo shares your email address and order details with us so we can activate your license. We never see your card details. See the Dodo Payments privacy policy.
